Donna's first proper trip back in time...
Love Donna, she asks all the questions a normal person would ask.
"Ancient Rome? Anything goes, it's like Soho only bigger...."
Nice to hear a call back to #TheRomans there... "Before you ask that fire had nothing to do with me!"
after The Romans its amazing to think the show actually got to film in Italy
Volcano day!
I've actually come to like that drum heavy 2nd version of Gold's theme arrangement. Wasn't keen at 1st.
This lot look like the sisterhood of Karn.
I wonder if they reused the costumes for Night of the Doctor?
Big Finish fans know that 7 and Mel are dashing about on the other side of the city!
Phil Cornwell's flogged the TARDIS off as modern art. Obviously seen #CityOfDeath and given him ideas.
The TARDIS has been bought by Peter Capaldi. Well, he is a big fan, as we know.
His son's been out on the lash, and his daughter's snorting rocks, egged on by her mum. He's got problems.
with this stories reputation for predicting regulars i am surprised the lad in the short skirt is not Mr Pink
Lol. Mad Maya for the Rani? Phil Cornwell for Meddling Monk?
Sally Smedley's let power go to her head.
Caecilius tries to flog some marble to Mr. & Mrs. Spartacus (no relation). If you want marble, he's your man.
The chief auger just happens to drop by. Phil Davis, always quality.
Lucius and the Doctor try to out-mystic each other, but there's a surprise...
Caecilius has rustled up a printed circuit to Lucius' order.
Evelina's on to the Doctor & Donna (don't mind her, she's from Barcelona!)
The gift of Pompeii allows Evelina & Lucius to tease the season's story arcs. Handy that.
High on volcano fumes, the soothsayers see the future. The Doctor decides to investigate Lucius.
Looks like Caecillius isn't the only marble merchant that Lucius has had making circuits.
Donna tries to get a bit of sense out of Evelina. Love the TK Maxximus line.
The sisterhood are eavesdropping on Donna's volcano warning...
The false prophet must die! Sacrifice her!
"A seed may float on the breeze in any direction." "I knew you were going to say that."
Lucius' arm is stone, and breaks off... then he calls up a giant rocky centurion from the fires below...
The family pour cold water on Rocky's plans, but Donna's gone missing.
"This prattling voice will cease forever!" "That'll be the day."
The sonic screwdriver unties knots in rope now.
The High Priestess has an even more advanced case of stone-itis than Lucius.
Another mention for the Shadow Proclamation. Mentioning them compels the Pyroviles to admit who they are...
The Doctor never uses a gun. Waterpistols are a completely different matter, though.
The prophecy must advance.
Time for a brief pause while we set up "fixed points in time". Normal service will now resume.
Evelina sees a terrible choice that must be made.
"Every waking second, I see what is, what was, what must never be. It's the burden of a Time-Lord."
You always got these nice little "walk in eternity" flourishes under RTD that really sold the authority of the Doctor.
Pyrovilia was lost... sounds important that, I'll make a note of it.
The Doctor and Donna take refuge in a giant meatball in the heart of the volcano.
The Doctor realises he has no choice than to become part of history and set the volcano off.
The volcano explodes, and the superhot gases blast forth, incinerating and choking the inhabitants of Pompeii. Except it seems that there's no such thing as pyroplastic floes and the like in the Doctor Who universe...
The Doctor legs it for the TARDIS. Maybe his Time-Lord knowledge means he already knows Capaldi will turn out alright...
Donna convinces the Doctor it might be worth letting Peter Capaldi survive this. She can see the future after all...
Klein wants to know who he really is. She'd go nuts if she found out he was the Umbrella Man.
6 months later, the Doctor and Donna have been promoted to household gods!

also in the Big Finish universe the Doctor does not seem surprised that his 12th self married Klein

its a brilliant scene though, really spooky
So true adding some nice menace to the season

its a bit mean of the Doctor to rip the poor sods arm off

There are new apps coming out every day... It was unbound to happen...
