Time Crash

Odd to start a charity snippet with a recap but here we are saying goodbye to Martha Jones at the end of Last of the Time Lords...

The Doctor's innocently going about his business when CRASH - but maybe not the one you were expecting!

It's the 5th Doctor, busily scurrying around the TARDIS console!

What? What! WHAT?
50dw50 ‏@50dw50 the peak of Who's popularity when a quick sketch got the cover of the Radio Times.

And quite surprising that classic doctors where back after only 2.5 years (16th November 2007)!

That boy Moffat will go far, mark my words.

50dw50 ‏@50dw50 in the days when fans still loved him.

Their 2 TARDISes must have collided in some sort of... Time Crash.

The 5th Doctor doesn't recognise the 10th. Seems a bit odd.

The 10th Doctor notes that his 5th self has been aged by the time differential between them to appear how he would had he never regenerated...

The younger older 10th Doctor is a bit cheeky to his older younger self, isn't he?

The 10th Doctor rips his former self's time-differentialled bald spot...

...and his "decorative vegetable".

He likes his "brainy specs" and sonic-less, hands-free approach to a crisis.
50dw50 ‏@50dw50 has 5 worked with more other Doctors than any other incarnation?

I reckon so!

Simon Pittman ‏@LibraryPlayer Depends if you count reused footage in Day!

The 5th Doctor could so without some skinny idiot ranting in his face.

A bit of an insight into Xmas at the Davisons, there.

The 5th Doctor thinks the "skinny idiot" is with that LINDA lot. Nice callback.

He's also not keen on the redecorating. "You've changed the desktop theme, haven't you. What's this one, coral? It's worse than the leopard skin."

And a crisis there is - the 5th Doctor is in a flap because their collided TARDISes threaten to rip a hole in space & time the size of Belgium!

Not massive on a galactic scale, I'd've thought.
Ruther ‏@Ruther2 Lesotho is also roughly the same size as Belgium

But panic ye not, The 10th Doctor knows exactly what to do...

...much to the 5th's surprise.

It finally dawns on the 5th Doctor that this is his future self - who remembered how to save the day from watching his younger self do it!

Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey. That won't get old fast.
Darth Marenghi ‏@DarthMarenghi The "Explosion cancels implosion" solution is used to resolve two Matt Smith series finales, I've noticed. :)

The universe saved, they share a moment.

Of course this is where the two Doctors almost drop out of character, as the 10th Doctor delivers Steven Moffat's love-letter to the 5th.

"I loved being you. Back when I first started at the very beginning, I was always trying to be old and grumpy and important, like you do when you're young."

"And then I was you, and it was all dashing about and playing cricket and my voice going all squeaky when I shouted."

He wears trainers too, and has his own "brainy specs".

"You know what, Doctor? You were my Doctor."

The timelines begin to right themselves, and the Doctors bid a find farewell:

"To days to come."

"All my love to long ago."

The 5th Doctor has a final warning: "Oh, Doctor, remember to put your shields up!"

But it's too late, and sure enough, the SS Titanic crashes through the interior wall of the TARDIS!
Mark ‏@Th3DarkMark it was a fun little skit, with at least some attempt to explain why 5 looked old!
50dw50 ‏@50dw50 which could have been used for the 50th.
Darth Marenghi ‏@DarthMarenghi But thankfully wasn't... :p

TTFN! K.
