8th Doctor: Season Six (2006/7)

Memory Lane
has some silly aliens at its finale but an intriguing & enjoyable surreal setting, with the new energy back. 8/10

Absolution
is a satisfying conclusion to c'rizz's story with threat, atmosphere & a powerhouse ending.  pushes its Revelations imagery too hard & when c'rizz croaks there's the same schadenfreude as with Adric's death 7/10

The Girl Who Never Was
After dispatching C'rizz, we now say goodbye to Charley; great themes of time running out, a timey-wimey mystery, great performances from the guest cast and regulars, and probably the best Cyberman voices bar none - a cross between the Invasion and the Tenth Planet. We even get a Cyber-planner. It doesn't know when to finish though and flounders on a bit too long, but it's genuinely sad when the Doctor leaves thinking Charley's said goodbye, and she thinking him dead, but of course this sets up a great post-credits twist... 8.5/10
