The Company of Friends

Benny's Story
...takes a while to get going but turns out fun. You can imagine this with River Song & the 11th Doctor.

Fitz's Story
...is a disposable runaround at heart but elevated by a tour de force performance from Matt Di Angelo. More please, Big Finish!

Great character, brilliantly brought to life & a great dynamic between Doctor & companion & the respective actors.

Izzy's Story
...is extremely silly but a lovingly accurate reflection of the dafter DWM McGann comic strips. You can actually picture this drawn by Roger Langridge.
Nice Stockbridge in-joke re: Old Mother Parkhouse, and the "belligerent newsagent" too!
Jemima Rooper's always great in anything & plays the early giddy version of Izzy. Would've made a gr8 pairing with McGann on TV.

Mary's Story
Considering how long Big Finish had spent setting up  it's a massive disappointment, saved only by the good casting.

Julie Cox as Mary Shelley saves this & while there's a welcome seriousness after 3 throwaway runarounds, this is a dull letdown.

Can we look forward to more 8th Doctor & Mary Shelley stories then? Axons? 1066?
